International Federation of Paediatric Orthoapedic Societies (IFPOS)
The 6th Triennial Congress of the International Federation of Paediatric Orthopaedic Societies is going to be held in conjunction with the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America in Toronto, Canada, in May 2013. There will be an IFPOS session on Thursday afternoon, May 2nd with free paper presentations. Papers will be selected from those tagged for IFPOS consideration through the POSNA abstract submission site.

NEW THIS YEAR:
POSNA is made up of a diverse group of musculoskeletal practitioners for children. Because of that diversity, we have developed programs and topics that may be of interest to subspecialists. For example, our 2013 annual meeting will include half day programming for several subspecialty topics on Friday, May 3rd, 2013. Each session will include paper presentations with discussion, expert techniques, and case presentations. We welcome abstract submissions for consideration in the subspecialty program.

For abstract submission guidelines, follow this link:
http://www.posna.org/meetings/anmeet/AbstractSubmissionGuidelines.pdf.

If you are unable to click on any of the above hyperlinks, simply copy and paste this URL address into your internet browser.

Or you can go to www.posna.org and scroll down to the first link under ”What’s New.”

Annual meeting presenters are no longer required to be a POSNA or Alliance Member to submit/present at our annual meeting. The only restriction for non-members is that presenters must be a physician who is a practicing orthopedist (i.e., has completed all post-doctoral training) and who is Board Certified or Board Eligible in their country of practice (if such a board exists).

In order to submit an abstract for the Annual Meeting, you must have a Username/Customer ID#. If you are not a member of POSNA, or if you have never attended an Annual Meeting or POSNA course, please email posna@aaos.org with your full name, mailing address, phone, fax and email and we will email you a customer ID#.

On behalf of the Program Committee, we look forward to receiving your submissions, which will allow us to construct a program consisting of the latest research and advances in our field. As in past years, we will have blinded grading of abstracts by the Program Committee and invited readers.

In an effort to be a leader among professional medical societies in addressing potential financial conflicts of interest, we will again ask authors to report financial conflicts of interest using threshold ranges. We ask you to report any relationships that you or your co-authors have had in the past 12 months with companies or institutions that are directly or indirectly related to your research. This will allow us to be compliant with the requirements for CME accreditation, and more importantly, will allow the Program Committee and our Annual Meeting audience to consider this information in assessing your research.

Sincerely,

R Tracy Ballock, MD
